The region at the foot of the Gerlosstein is the perfect starting point for nice hiking tours, for relaxing in the sun or for mountainbike tours.
Hainzenberg has long been a golddigger's region. The well preserved gold mine is now a museum/tourist mine and can be reached by foot from our house (1,5km). On your way there you will also pass an animal park as well as an open-for-visitors cheese factory.
Another must is the ascent of the "Gerlossteinwand" (2.166m) mountain. Even the untrained and children can easily conquer the mountain in about 1 hour walking time. At the top a nice plateau with a beautful view awaits you and more than makes up for the effort.
Our privileged location on a plateau has one other big advantage: On quite a few days the mist stays in the valley bottom in the mornings. All the while you can already enjoy a magnificent sunrise. It's truly a sight to behold when the sun shines onto the dense mist in the valley.
